WESTWOOD PARISH COUNCIL - NOTICE OF MEETING

 

Notice is hereby given that the next meeting of the Westwood Parish Council will be held in the Parish Room on

Monday 7 March 2011 at 7.30pm

 

 

AGENDA.

 

1.       Welcome and Introductions.

The Chairman to welcome those present.

 

2.       Apologies.

To receive apologies for non-attendance.

 

3.       Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held on 7 February 2011.

To agree, and sign, the minutes of the meeting as an accurate record.

 

4.       Adjournment.

The Meeting will adjourn for members of the public present to raise any points of interest on any matter.

The meeting will then re-convene.

 

5.       Westwood Road Safety.

a.       Cllr. Bishop to provide a report on the current position - especially in relation to the Joint Meetings with Wiltshire Council - and to report on the progress of the ’Westwood 20 mph Speed Limit Trial’.

b.       To note the progress of the Community Grant application and to decide if any further action is      required.

 

6.       Neighbourhood Policing.

a.       To invite the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) to report on any matters of concern.

b.       To advise the NPT of any matter that needs to be brought to its attention.

 

7.       Bradford on Avon Community Area Board.

a.       To agree any matters that need to be raised at the next Area Board meeting (16 March 2011).

b.       To agree the attendance at the Area Board (Community Grant application possibly on Agenda).

 

8.       Sub-Committees.

Footpaths.

To review the Footpath sub-Committee Rights of Way Survey results (February).

 

Planning.

 

a.              To agree the comments to be sent to Wiltshire Council in respect of the following planning applications:

Cemetery.

a.       To receive a report from the Cemetery sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To decide the extent of the pruning required for the cemetery path hedge.

c.       To note any correspondence in relation to the Closed Churchyard/Cemetery Grant.

d.       To note the purchase of a Grave Plot.

 

Finance.

a.              To receive a report from the Clerk on the current financial position.

b.       To agree the payments to be made.

c.       To agree the quotation from Playforce for the repair to the Play Area surface.

 

Open Spaces.

a.       To receive a report from Open Spaces sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To note the inspection/maintenance reports for the Play Equipment (February) and to agree any necessary action.

c.       To note the further correspondence from a parishioner relating to the litter on the Playing Field.

d.       To note the request from a parishioner to use the Playing Field, weekly, for football practice.

 

Environmental.

a.       To receive a report from the Environmental sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To note the order placed for the Grit Bin at Avoncliff.

c.       To note the request for a Grit Bin halfway up The Pastures and to agree the action necessary.

 

9.       Parish Council New member.

a.       To note the correspondence from a parishioner to be a co-opted member of the Parish Council.

b.       To decide whether to co-opt the parishioner.

 

10.     Valley Parishes Alliance.

a.       Cllr. Edwards to report to the Council on current developments.

b.       To endorse the actions taken by Cllr. Edwards under delegated authority from Westwood Parish Council in respect of decisions by the VPA.

 

11.     Parish Council Members Areas of Responsibility.

To review the areas of responsibilities of the members and to agree any changes.

 

12.     Date of Parish Council Meeting.

To note the date of the next Parish Council Meeting:    Monday 4 April 2011 at 7.30 pm.

 

13.     Any Other Business.

Exchange of views on matters not requiring a decision.
