Notice is hereby given that the next meeting of the Westwood Parish Council will be held in the Parish Room on

Monday 10 May 2010 at 8.00pm





1.       Welcome and Introductions.

The Chairman to welcome those present.


2.       Apologies.

To receive apologies for non-attendance.


3.       Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held on 12 April 2010.

To agree, and sign, the minutes of the meeting as an accurate record.


4.       Adjournment.

The Meeting will adjourn for members of the public present to raise any points of interest on any matter.

The meeting will then re-convene.


5.       Westwood Road Safety.

a.       To note any correspondence sent and received.

b.       To note the results of the Metrocount Traffic Survey and decide the action to be taken.

c.       To agree any further action to take in respect of Westwood Road Safety.


6.       Neighbourhood Policing.

a.       To invite the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) to report on any matters of concern.

b.       To advise the NPT of any matter that needs to be brought to its attention.


7.       Westwood Annual Parish Meeting held on 13 April 2010.

a.       To note any resolutions passed at the Annual Parish Meeting.

b.       To note the request for the Parish Council to engage better with the community and to decide:

·         Whether the existing processes for ‘engagement’ are considered adequate.

·         If not, how to achieve this ‘engagement’ effectively.


8.       Bradford on Avon Community Area Board.

To agree any matter that needs to be referred to the Area Board at its next meeting on 19 May 2010..


9.       Wiltshire Council - Gypsy and Traveller Issues and General Approach Consultation.

To decide on the response to send to Wiltshire Council.


10.     Sub-Committees.

a.       To receive a report from the Clerk on the current financial position.

b.       To agree the payments to be made.

To review the Footpath sub-Committee Rights of Way Survey results (April).


Open Spaces.

a.       To receive a report from Open Spaces sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To note the inspection/maintenance reports for the Play Equipment (April) and to agree any necessary action.

c.       To note the letter from the children at the Nursery School.



a.              To receive a report from the Environmental sub-Committee on current key issues, including the proposal to plant new trees in the village.

b.              To note any reply from WC Avoncliff Lane fencing.


11.     Valley Parishes Alliance.

To note any developments.


12.     Date of Parish Council Meeting.


To note the date of the next Parish Council Meeting:


Ordinary Parish Council Meeting - Monday 7 June 2010 at 7.30 pm.


13.     Any Other Business.
