Notice is hereby given that the next meeting of the Westwood Parish Council will be held in the Parish Room on Monday 11 May 2009 at 8.00pm







1.       Welcome and Introductions.

Chairman to welcome those present.


2.       Apologies.

To receive apologies for non-attendance.


3.       New Council Member.

a.       The Council to co-opt a new member.

b.       The new co-opted member to sign Declaration Form etc.


4.       Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held on 6 April 2009.

To agree, and sign, the minutes of the meeting as an accurate record.


5.       Adjournment (at 8.15 pm approx).

The Meeting will adjourn for members of the public present to raise any points of interest on any matter.

The meeting will then re-convene.


6.       Westwood Nursery School.

To decide whether to increase the Nursery School ‘Outside Play Area’.


7.       Neighbourhood Policing.

a.       To invite the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) to report on any matters of concern.

b.       To advise the NPT of any matters that need to be brought to its attention.


8.       Sub-Committees.



a.       To receive a report from the Cemetery sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To note the Memorial application.



To review the Footpath sub-Committee Rights of Way Survey results (April).


Open Spaces.

a.       To receive a report from Open Spaces sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To note the inspection/maintenance reports for the Play Equipment (April) and to agree any necessary action.

c.       To note the correspondence from a parishioner (overgrown hedge) and to decide any action.



a.       To receive a report from the Environmental sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To receive a report on the visit of the Parish Steward (30 April).

c.       To note the correspondence from Wiltshire Council (Lower Westwood Road).

d.       To decide whether to purchase ‘Direction Signs’ indicating the location of the Church.



a.       To receive a report from the Clerk on the current financial position.

b.       To agree the payments to be made.




a.              To note the status of the following planning applications and decide on the comments to be sent to Wiltshire Council:


09/00614                   3 Chestnut Grove                    Single Storey Rear Extension             Permission.

09/00661                   153 Upper Westwood             Porch & Rear and Side extension      Permission.

08/03030                   Land at Tynings Way              Two Dwellings                                                Permission.

Note: Changes from previous meeting are shown in BOLD.


b.              To consider any planning applications received after 6 May 2009.



New Planning Applications are available for public inspection immediately prior to the Parish Council meeting.


c.       To approve the Terms of Reference defining the process for commenting on planning applications and for requiring them to be placed before the Planning Committee if required.


9.       Date of Parish Council Meeting.


To note the date of the next Meeting:


Ordinary Parish Council - Monday 1 June 2009 at 7.30 pm.


10.     Any Other Business.

Exchange of views on matters not requiring a decision.


·         NHS Wiltshire Application to dispense medicines.

·         J & A Wheals Hedge work required.

·         BWB ‘Destination Panel’ - £500 request.
