Westwood School

A big hello again from us all at Westwood with Iford Primary School. We are very much back in to the excitement of a new term, having welcomed our new reception entrants, who have settled wonderfully well.

Speaking of which, we are holding our Open Morning on Wednesday 2nd October 2019 from 9.30am-12pm. This is an opportunity for parents of children starting school in September 2020, or indeed, anyone who is new to the area or has primary age children to visit us. I would be delighted to show you around our fabulous school and stunning grounds.

Our Westwood Oral History Project is now into its last year, so if you are interested in taking part in this project, either with a story to tell or as a volunteer transcriber, please contact the school.

Westwood School

Hello again from Westwood school and it’s hard to believe that we’re at the end of another academic year already. So much has taken place since I last wrote, including a trip to London for a BBC Young Arias Radio awards ceremony, our fabulous Sports Day, two nights of first class entertainment from our older children performing Pirates of the Curry Bean and our Summer Fair. Thank you all so very much for supporting our school once again.Academically, our Year 2 & Year 6 children have again made us proud with their commitment, hard work and attitude to learning that resulted in their well deserved SATs results. Around school, everyone has had so many exciting learning opportunities this year which has been a joy to see.Sadly, we are saying goodbye at the end of term to our wonderful Year 6 children and we wish them all every success in their new schools. We will miss them all!

Finally, if you would like to be a governor at our successful school, please contact us via the school website www.westwoodwithiford.org. We would very much welcome additional members.

Have a great summer everyone!     Ian Rockey   Head teacher

Westwood School

Hello again from a very busy Westwood school! Once again the weeks are fairly racing by with so much to celebrate!  With the Scarecrow Trail just two weeks away, please take a look at our new play equipment, all weather path and stunning grounds as you pass through. Our gardening club have been working really hard to make our site look glorious.

I must say a huge well done to our brilliant Year 6 children who are taking their SATs this week and are such a credit to the school. As always they work incredibly hard and we could not be more proud of them.

Thank you if you have taken the time to listen in to our radio station, Westwood Radio. Our listener figures are booming and we have also been nominated for a Young Arias award! We will be heading to BBC Broadcasting House this week to a special awards ceremony, so watch this space!

Finally, a huge thank you if you came to the Quiz Night we hosted recently. This was such an enormous success and raised a huge amount.  See you at the Summer Fair on Saturday 22nd June!
