Westwood School

Hello again from Westwood School where we have had a very busy start to the year since I last wrote to you, including a trip to London and a live radio show from the centre of a large IT exhibition, a brilliant Safer Internet Day and a visit from the fabulous author, Joe Berger. Once again our fabulous Orchid class dancers took part in the West Wilts Dance Festival at the Bath Forum. With a theme of Love, the children put on a stunning display which was beautifully choreographed and timed to perfection. Our Hockey players also recently took part in an inter-school tournament and came a tremendous fourth. They were such a credit to our school and played with complete confidence. World Book Day was another great success with an array of fantastic costumes. Each class took their own focus for the day and the children had the opportunity to experience some super book-based learning. Our school blogs also continue to thrive in their content and learning, so please do take time to have a look and we would love your comments. Head to westwoodblogs.org to find out more!

Westwood School

A very Happy New Year from us all at Westwood School! It was lovely to see so many of you at our Christmas Fair and in school for our festivities. We are now settled back into the new term and already the children are immersed in fascinating topics. You can find out more of what we are enjoying from our class blogs which can be found at westwoodblogs.org.

Our radio station, Westwood Radio, is going from strength to strength and we now have around 15,000 listeners every month tuning in!  We broadcast online every Monday at 8.15am, Thursday at 2.15pm and Friday at 2.15pm on radio.westwoodwithiford.org with all the latest school and community news. Please contact us if you have an item you would like us to promote.

We feel very much part of the local community and our Oral History Project continues to thrive, with a wonderful archive of material being gathered for future generations to enjoy. We also have a number of activities planned and a date for your diary is Friday 15th February when I will be hosting Tea with the Head. All are welcome!
